Additionally, if you are planning to leave for your honeymoon right away, it is important that this person is also responsible for sending your flowers to us so that they can be properly preserved. We highly recommend sharing steps #3 and #4 with your caregiver. With careful planning and an astute choice of a caregiver, you can rest easy knowing that your flowers will be in good hands on your big day.
2. Don't toss your bouquet.
Although tossing your bouquet represents a time-honored tradition, it may not be
the best way to preserve them. Flowers are very delicate and can easily break or bruise, which can interfere with their longevity. Even if damage does not appear at first, it will become apparent once your flowers are preserved. For this reason, we recommend speaking with your florist about creating a custom toss bouquet, which will be a smaller and lighter version of your original bouquet. This will help protect the flowers during the tossing ceremony and ensure that they remain in good condition even after they have been preserved. 3. Water your bouquet.
When it comes to flowers, one of the most important things you need to do in order to keep them looking their best is to hydrate them frequently. This means giving your bouquet a fresh drink of water every day until you ship or drop off your flowers to us. If you are keeping your flowers for more than a week, we highly suggest adding floral food to the water. By keeping your flowers properly hydrated, you will help prevent wilting or premature decay, and you will also prolong the life and beauty of your flowers.
Pro tip: Keep the flowers out of direct sunlight or if possible, put your bouquet in the fridge. The cold temperature will help preserve the flowers longer.
